This is my 33rd year in the Vacaville Unified School District and my sixth year as Assistant Principal here at WJMS.

Prior to my tenure at WJMS, in September of 1986, when Vaca Pena Middle School opened, I was appointed Science Dept. Chair and 8th grade science teacher where I served VPMS for 21 years; including football and track coach, student body advisor, and yearbook advisor. Previous to my tenure at VPMS I was a sixth grade teacher at Fairmont Elementary School for 5 1/2 years.

Middle school is fun and challenging all at the same time as the students are beginning to make decisions that will form who they will become as they complete middle school and graduate from high school. For me, that equates to satisfaction as I see the students "figure it out" and begin to make the necessary strides (socially and academically) to become successful in what ever they attempt later in life.

I encourage you and your student to take advantage of the multitude of activities, resources, and instructional opportunities WJMS has to offer to educate, extend, and enrich your student's time here at WJMS.
